Ironstride Terms of Use
Effective date: October 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the developer of the Ironstride app, named in our Privacy Policy ("we", "us" or "our"). They cover the Ironstride app and any related website or support service (together, "Ironstride").
By creating an account or using Ironstride, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at https://brayray99.github.io/ironstride-help/privacy.html. If you do not agree, do not use Ironstride.
1. Who can use Ironstride
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms for you and help you use Ironstride safely.
- Ironstride is not for children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it.
- You may not use Ironstride if the law where you live does not allow it, or if we have removed you before.
2. Your account
- You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email and password.
- One account is for one person. Do not share it or sell it.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. Tell us at support@ironstride.app if you think someone else used your account.
- Your callsign is the name your crew sees. Do not use a real person's name that is not yours, a brand you do not own, or anything that breaks section 4.
- You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. Section 11 and our Privacy Policy explain what happens to your data.
3. What Ironstride does
Ironstride helps you record workouts, keep a daily goal and streaks, log strength days, plan routes, follow a long road of your own, and take a shared trip along a real road with a small crew (a "campaign"). Your recorded workouts add miles to every campaign you are in. You earn Strides for active days and can spend them on vehicle looks. Some campaign styles are sold as style packs (section 10).
We may add, change or remove features over time.
4. Acceptable use: zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This applies to everything you type or share in Ironstride, including callsigns, campaign names, dedications, notes and links you add to places on a road, stop messages, and anything else other members can see.
You agree not to post, send or link to anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens, stalks or intimidates anyone;
- attacks or demeans people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, veteran status or any similar trait;
- is sexual, sexually suggestive, or exploits or endangers children in any way;
- shows or encourages violence, self-harm, or dangerous acts;
- shares another person's private information, such as an address, phone number or location, without their permission;
- pretends to be another person or organization;
- is spam, a scam, or advertising;
- links to sites that are harmful, illegal, adult, or meant to collect passwords or payment details;
- breaks the law or someone else's rights, including copyright and trademark.
You also agree not to:
- use Ironstride to contact, meet or follow someone who has blocked you or asked you to stop;
- fake your workouts, for example by recording a car ride as a walk, changing your GPS location, or altering the app, to gain miles, Strides, medals or a place in a crew;
- copy, scrape or overload Ironstride, or try to get into accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- take apart, change or rebuild the app, except where the law allows it;
- use Ironstride for any commercial purpose without our written permission.
What we do about it. If we decide, in our judgment, that content or behavior breaks this section, we may do any of these, with or without warning:
- remove or reset the content (for example, reset a callsign or campaign name, or clear a note or link);
- remove the person from a campaign;
- remove progress, Strides or medals gained by cheating;
- suspend the account for a set time, or close it for good;
- report illegal content to the police or other authorities when the law requires it or when someone may be in danger.
5. Reporting and blocking
- Report a member, a campaign name, a dedication, a place note, a place link or the text at a stop from inside the app. Reports go to our team.
- We review reports and act on objectionable content and abusive users within 24 hours of receiving a report.
- Block a person from inside the app to hide what they share from you.
- You can also email support@ironstride.app about any safety concern.
- If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first.
6. Health and safety
Ironstride is not medical advice and is not a medical device.
- Talk to your doctor before you start a new exercise program, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, are recovering from an injury, or have not exercised in a while.
- Stop exercising and get medical help if you feel pain, faintness, dizziness, chest pressure or shortness of breath.
- Heart rate, effort zones, distance, speed and other numbers are estimates for your own workouts. They can be wrong. Do not use them to diagnose or treat any condition.
- Goals, streaks and campaign plans are suggestions. Move at your own pace. Rest when you need to.
Outdoor safety.
- Pay attention to traffic, weather, terrain, wildlife and the people around you.
- Do not look at or use your phone while you drive, ride a bike in traffic, or cross a road. Never record a "walk" while driving.
- Tell someone where you are going when you go out alone, and carry water and a light when you need them.
- Respect private property, closures and local rules.
Routes are suggestions. Routes, loops, campaign roads, place names and maps come from automated services and from OpenStreetMap contributors. They can be wrong, out of date, closed, unsafe or on private land. Always check conditions on the ground and follow posted signs and local laws. You choose where you go, and you are responsible for your own safety.
7. Campaigns and crews
- The person who starts a campaign (the "creator") chooses its road, dates, style and settings, and approves who joins. A crew can have up to the number of people the app shows (8 today).
- A workout you record counts in every campaign you belong to when it starts, under each campaign's rules. Some creators approve hand-entered miles before they count.
- Creators can remove members. Anyone can leave a campaign.
- What crewmates see is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: your callsign, your vehicle, and your progress on the trip, but not your real location, your routes or your heart rate.
- Invite codes expire. Share them only with people you know.
- A creator's notes and links are the creator's responsibility. We do not check outside websites and are not responsible for them.
8. Your content and our right to use it
- You own what you create. That includes your callsign, campaign names, place notes, links and stop messages ("Your Content").
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, show and send Your Content only as needed to run Ironstride, for example to show your campaign name to your crew. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain in our encrypted backups for the limited time our Privacy Policy describes.
- You promise that you have the right to share Your Content and that it follows section 4.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything.
9. Strides, vehicle looks and medals
- Strides, vehicle looks (including looks earned from medals), medals, patches and other in-app rewards are earned by using Ironstride. They are not money.
- They have no cash value. You cannot sell, trade, transfer or cash them out.
- We may change how they are earned or what they unlock, or reset them if they were gained by cheating or by a mistake in the app.
- They end when your account is deleted.
10. Style packs and purchases
- Ironstride is free to download and use. The Road Trip style is free.
- You can buy style packs (today Convoy, Classic Cars and Rally, or all three together) as one-time in-app purchases through Apple. The price is shown in the App Store before you buy. There are no subscriptions, no ads and no donations in this version.
- A pack you buy covers everyone in every campaign you create, now and later. People who join your campaigns never pay for it.
- A campaign that starts with a pack keeps that pack until the campaign finishes, even if a gift ends or a purchase is refunded. A new campaign needs the pack when it starts.
- We may give packs for free, sometimes until an end date. A gift never charges you.
- Apple handles payment, receipts and refunds under Apple's terms. To ask for a refund, contact Apple. To restore a pack on a new phone, use Restore purchases in the app's Settings.
- A pack gives you a license to use its looks in Ironstride. It has no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and is not shared through Family Sharing.
- You keep the packs you bought for as long as Ironstride is available. If we stop offering Ironstride, packs end with it. Refunds go through Apple or Google under their rules.
11. Ending your account
- You can stop using Ironstride at any time and delete your account from inside the app. Our Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and the few things that remain.
- We may suspend your account for a set time, or close it, if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Ironstride. While your account is suspended, the app tells you, and you can contact us at support@ironstride.app. If we stop offering Ironstride, we will try to give you notice first.
- Sections 6, 8 (feedback), 9, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 continue after your account ends.
12. Other services
Ironstride works with services from other companies, for example Apple Health, Apple Maps, Sign in with Apple, Apple In-App Purchase, RevenueCat, Google sign-in, Google Maps on Android, and map and routing services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for them. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
13. Disclaimers
Ironstride is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that Ironstride will be accurate, safe, uninterrupted, free of errors, or fit for a particular purpose. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you. This section applies except where your local law gives you rights that cannot be waived.
14. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, and except where your local law gives you rights that cannot be waived:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, injury from exercise or outdoor activity, or lost profits, that come from your use of Ironstride;
- our total liability for any claim about Ironstride is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you and we agree to those courts. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court instead, if it qualifies. This section applies except where your local law gives you rights that cannot be waived, such as the right to the protection of your home state's consumer laws or to bring a claim in your local courts.
16. Apple App Store terms
If you got Ironstride from Apple's App Store:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Ironstride and its content.
- Your license to use Ironstride is limited to using it on Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no duty to provide any maintenance or support for Ironstride.
- If Ironstride fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund any purchase price you paid for it. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty duty for Ironstride. We, not Apple, are responsible for any other claims, losses or costs from a failure to meet a warranty.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims by you or anyone else about Ironstride, including product liability claims, claims that Ironstride does not meet a law or regulation, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, including about HealthKit.
- If anyone claims that Ironstride or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo or named as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Questions or complaints about Ironstride go to us at support@ironstride.app.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Ironstride, such as your mobile carrier's terms.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Ironstride after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, delete your account.
18. Other legal terms
- If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a part of these Terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them if Ironstride is sold or moved to another company, and we will tell you if that happens.
- These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Ironstride.
